Other FEZ Games
Here is a list of the other games we have so far. Please check back we are creating new games all the time.
Showdown
Object of the Game
Who can make the highest scoring hand from a community open hand.
The Deal
Each player takes turns at dealing and deals 5 cards face up onto the table for all to see, the community cards. Create a stock and discard pile as usual.
The Play
Each player has to make the highest scoring hand from the 5 community cards and either the face up discard or the unseen card on the stock pile.
Each player calls ‘discard’ or ‘chance’ to nominate which 6th card they want to play. The dealer flips the top card of the stock pile and leaves it on top, the players who call ‘chance’ will use that as their 6th card.
Each player writes their hand down, and when each player has got their highest score, use a timer if you want to limit time taken, they call ‘FEZ’. Normal FEZ scoring applies, including all bonuses.
Each player calls their score, the highest scoring player(s) starts by calling their hand. If unchallenged they take those points and the next deal begins. If challenged and upheld, the next highest score is checked and so on until a player claims the highest score.
A tie results in the points being given to each player.
6 Card Golf
Called 6 Card Golf because it consists of 9 rounds and is similar to the regular card game.
Object of the Game
To create the most points for words in your hand over 9 rounds.
The Deal
Each player is dealt 6 cards face down from the deck in 2 rows of 3. First 3 cards to each, then 2, then 1 final card to each. The remainder of the cards are placed face down, and the top card is turned up to start the discard pile. Players turn any 2 of these cards face up. The remaining cards stay face down and cannot be looked at.
The Play
The object is for players to have the highest score by swapping cards that will help to make high scoring word or words. To score points, the cards must make a word according to standard FEZ rules.
Beginning with the player to the dealer’s left, players take turns drawing single cards from either the stock or discard piles. The drawn card may either be swapped for one of that player’s 6 cards, or discarded. If the card is swapped for one of the face down cards, the card swapped in remains face up.
The round ends when one of the player’s cards are all face-up. Each player then declares the word or words that they can make an each word is scored according to FEZ scoring.
We recommend that you do not rotate or move the cards to form your words as this will show your opponent what word(s) you have and how close you are to finishing. There is a balance between striving for a high score and making sure you don’t end up with cards that don’t make a word!
Rummy
Very similar to Mahjong card-golf-6 Solitaire.
Object of the Game
To create the most points for words in your hand.
The Deal
Dealer deals cards 1 at a time to each player; 10 cards if 2 players, 7 cards if 3-4 and 6 cards if 5-6 players. The top card of the stock is turned face up and starts the discard pile.
The Play
Each player in turn draws a card from stock or discard and adds it to their hand. The player may choose to lay down words made or keep them in their hand. They then discard a card to the discard pile. If the player drew from the discard pile, they may not discard the same card on that turn.
As per standard FEZ rules a player may lay off their cards against other player’s words, although they cannot lay off until they have played at least 1 word on a previous turn and laid it out on the table.
Going Out
There are 2 ways to go out.
- when a player who has not laid any cards on the table can make their final word with their drawn card, they call out ‘FEZ’ and lay all their words on the table. No discard is required.
- when a player plays their last card to any words on the table and does a final discard.
Scoring
Normal FEZ scoring applies. The face value of unused(not in a word) cards in each player’s hands being added to the winning player’s score as per regular card Rummy.

The Play
Players pick up the cards and hold them in their hands, being careful to keep them concealed from the other players.
